Natural dye process (day 1) workshop

Sunday, April 30,  5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

This weekend workshop will be a comprehensive learning experience for the whole process of natural dying. Students will be provided with 4 cotton bandanas to prepare and dye.

Day 1

Day one will focus on preparing and mordanting fibers. Participants will learn about the best fibers for dying, how to wash and prepare them for mordanting, and the process of mordanting. This comprehensive class will provide a thorough understanding of the first critical step in the natural dyeing process, setting the foundation for your natural dyes.

Day 2

Day two will delve into the exciting process of preparing your dye bath with botanical materials. Participants will learn techniques for creating various patterns on their fibers and how to use modifiers to alter the colors obtained from the dye bath

Recommended to bring your own journal and pen/pencil for note taking.
